Following the immediate, also in assembly

In April 1930, the Piacenza artist Osvaldo Barbieri, known as BOT (Barbieri Oswaldo Terribile), in conjunction with the opening of the Venice Biennale, published his " flora futurista" ("futuristic flora"), a brilliant floral abstraction to finally replace the boring, decadent flowers with the beauty of an artificial, geometric, abstract, incorruptible, sharp, angular, dangerous, metallic, mechanical and plastic flora.
It is a sort of brilliant catalogue of a new botany containing eighty synthetic illustrations of abstract flowers with an aesthetic that also finds references out of the italian futurist movement, intercepting a taste that has reminiscences of the more or less contemporary experiments of the Bauhaus or the Russian constructivism.

«[.] Bot's "flora" is defined by its sort of translated visual onomatopoeia, where the flower is transformed into a constructed image of something other than itself, at the object level, at the animal level, at the psychological level, etc. The "flora", in short, is no longer just a nature reinvented and plastically exalted in its shapes and colors (as for Balla), but a sort of "significant" nature, of "sign" vegetation, beyond the natural expected"

(Crispolti, Ricostruzione futurista dell universo, 1980, p. 261)

The publication also contains the re-edition of the manifesto by Fedele Azari dedicated to the "Futurist Flora and plastic equivalents of artificial odors" of November 1924. In November 2024 we wanted to pay homage to their genius by creating a lamp that was actually a vase of futurist flowers, cut directly from the pages of the floral manifesto, it is the BOT table lamp.

Our flowers with a plastic scent do not require any care or water but only electricity to illuminate your life.
Flowers that in the vase-lamp have a dual decorative and structural function being an integral part of the assembly process.
All the components of our vase are in 5mm acrylic cut by our futuristic laser in the bunker of l u c i v e l o c i  in Rome.

"Why persist in giving bouquets of flowers destined to rot.. gift acrylic flowers, transparent, bright, FUTURISTIC!"
